Washer woman

Category :

My dryer is dead. Kaput. It went "clunk, clunk, KABAM" and that is all she wrote.

Fortunately, we have the technology to rebuild her.

Unfortunately, that technology is on back order.

Have I mentioned that I have 4 kids?

And three dogs?

They generate a LOT of laundry. Ever surface in my house has become a drying spot. If I can drape a wet towel, or wash cloth over it - I am.  The actual clothes I am washing and taking over to my in-laws house to dry, so the clothes don't end stiff. Yes, I am taking one for the team, and going over and spending time with the mother-in-law and sister-in-law.

Yea me!

There was an old woman who lived in a shoe

This past weekend I watched a friend's children so she could have an actual night to her self. I was happy that I could give her a chance to have some "me time". She is a single mother who works AND home schools her kids. Seriously. I have no idea how this woman has time to even brush her teeth.

This means that I had nine kids for the weekend. Let me say that again, just in case you missed it. I HAD NINE KIDS FOR THE WEEKEND.

Nine. Kids.

NINE!

The oldest being 17, the youngest  - three.

It is safe to say I am currently insane.

And also in need of groceries.

I'm in the unusual position of being the one in the family to hold the shit together.  Normally, I can let my crazy shine, but DH is dealing with some heavy stuff right now and I know the last thing he needs it any extra to deal with from me.

DH is usually the calm person around here.  And what he's having to work through right now is seriously fucking with his personality.  I know what he's dealing with but there is not a thing I can do to help and I hate that.

Last night was pretty horrible here and today I'm wondering if he's really as okay as he says he is now or what.  I know and he knows that it's just going to take time for him to feel like his old self again but this is really fucking hard.

Awkward!

Last week we took a family trip to see a pro ball game. We took my sister-in-law, since it was her favorite team playing. The SIL, well, she came over early and started drinking beer and vodka with 7up about 4 hours before we hit the road. I was driving so she chose to sit up front with me. Along the way, she popped a few pain pills (not hers - I'm guessing she lifted them from the MIL). So the SIL was pretty...um... loose. With my husband and the kids all occupied in the back playing games - she started talking. And talking. And talking.

And confessing.

For years, I have know that the SIL is gay, or at least bisexual. Even though she claims otherwise. The MIL is a very staunch conservative christian, as well as very judgemental, so the SIL is so firmly entrenched in the closet, it isn't even funny.  I personally, could care less what her sexual orientation is. To each their own.

However; with the drinking and the pills, she apparently lost her filter between her bran and her mouth, because she started telling me all about her crush, her unrequited love... for ME!

Woah!

I've been married to her brother for more than 20 years. I have 4 kids. I am pretty damn solidly in the "hetero" category. But that didn't seem to want to stop her from talking all about it, and how I should leave my husband for her. Because, wouldn't that be great?

I'm thinking... no!
