Charlotte, I am not grilling!
I'm questioning in an invasive manner :)
1.If you could redo your regrets and bad decisions, would you? Even if that 'do over' affected the life you have now, in good and negative ways?
I would like to say yes, but I know that I'd redo the same mistakes. I've met some wonderful people on the journey, and I truly don't think I could trade them out to take a few smears off my record.
2.If you could teach your children only one lesson, guaranteed they would retain it, what would it be? Why?
To know their own self-worth. That would give them the power to reach for the life they want, and they wouldn't settle for what they think they can get instead of what they deserve.
3.Do you believe that nature or nurture plays a role in how people turn out?
Nurture is a huge part of it, but nature some times breeds out.
Do I believe that someones nature makes them do things like rape, murder, or molest? No, I believe those are decisions they make themselves.
But alcoholism, genetic predisposition to addiction, those I think can be passed down in the blood.
4.What do you want to be remembered for after you are gone?
How much I loved my family.
5.If there is a technological apocalypse, like in S.M. Stirling's The Change, would you survive? How?
I would move to the nearest Amish settlement and ask them to teach me how to farm and live "plain". I can knit, sew, and have a rough idea on how to can, but since I'm allergic to nature, I don't know squat about farming or growing things. I'm not sure what incentive I could give them, but I'd think of something.
What needs to really happen is that I need a group to live together, with roughly the same number of men and women, or if I can't get even numbers, I think more men than women would be best. Breeding and all that.
And someone who is good with animals, train the dogs, calm horses, things like that. Because, like farming, I know jack about horses.
