I'm a Hoarder

Category : , ,

I can’t really name much that I do in terms of personal indulgences. This year has been the busiest year I’ve ever had in terms of going places and that’s all been due to good circumstances popping up.

Getting a monthly manicure and pedicure is something that fell to the wayside a few years ago. It got to where I decided I’d rather have monkey hands and use that money for other things.

Oh! Wait I know! My indulgence is books. Books and comic books! I have a bookshelf crammed full of things. Signed books? Holy hell, how I like signed books. And if I have a signed copy then I also have an unsigned copy to actually read because I don’t want to muss the signed one up. Husband was looking at the bottom shelf of my bookshelf one day and asked my why two rows held identical books and I had to tell him why.

The Overlook Connection is my dealer. I have a wishlisht a mile long from there and whenever they send an email offering a great discount - I feel like it’s a sign to buy something. Right now I’m collecting three comic series’ - The Talisman, The Dark Tower and The Stand. I get the whole storyline (usually 6-7 comics) along with the slipcase cover for those as a set and then the hardcover that has all the comics bound as one book. (The book is the one I read because I don't want to fingerprint up the comics.) I tell myself that I’m being thrifty because it’s cheaper to buy them all at once instead of one at a time. And books by Joe Hill (Stephen King's son). I think I have all of his so far, signed and unsigned and special editions.

Good grief, this is a sickness.

But now I’m excited and am going to pet my books.

Ahhh, Stephen King and his family of writers - another passion we share. I have one of Tabitha's books too. Vicious and really good.

Oh, Tabitha King! I've read all of her stuff too! I wish she would write more.
